Back in December of 2011, Fairmount presented one of its most popular productions, Scrooge: The Musical. The musical, of course, is based upon Charles Dickens’ classic holiday book, A Christmas Carol. The closing sentence of that book reads, “And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God Bless Us, Every One!”
Have you ever wondered whatever became of Tiny Tim when he grew up? Well, this December you can find out! We are delighted to announce that our next major musical production, to be presented this Christmas, is God Bless Us, Every One. The musical is written by Christian composer and arranger Robert Sterling, who also wrote two of our previous musicals, The Choice and The Christmas Post. The story chronicles the life of Tiny Tim as a young adult and the life choices that he faces.
Robert Sterling’s synopsis of the musical reads as follows – “It is Christmas, 1870, and Dr. Timothy Cratchit is about to set sail for a new life in Boston when he learns he has inherited a dilapidated clinic in Whitechapel from old Mr. Scrooge. Before he can leave for America, he must first do his duty as an Englishman and find a doctor to run the clinic. When none can be found, Tim has little choice but to take the job himself, temporarily. Once he meets the pretty but headstrong young nurse who works there, along with the orphans in her care, Tim has to decide between the two very different futures that await him.”
Fairmount’s presentations of God Bless Us, Every One will take place the first two weekends of December – December 1-3 and December 8-10. Be thinking now about who you want to invite!
God bless us, every one!
As we go on our way
May we live ev’ry moment
As we live Christmas day!
