The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels for children written by Christian author, C.S. Lewis, and is considered a classic of children's literature. Having sold over 100 million copies in 41 languages, it has been adapted several times, complete or in-part, for radio, television, stage, and cinema. The most recent film adaption of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, based on the 2nd book of the series, was the third most popular film in the U.S. in 2005.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of 4 children who, while playing hide and seek, find a wardrobe which leads to the enchanted land of Narnia. Through their journey, they learn that Narnia is trapped in winter and ruled by the evil White Witch whom they must defeat. Defeating evil will fulfil an ancient prophecy, and in turn, return Aslan (the Christ-figure) as the rightful leader of the throne. A classic story of good vs. evil, it affirms the Christian Gospel and the positive values of the Christian ethic, redemption through love.
We are pleased to announce that The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will be Fairmount’s next major production, to be presented on the Worship Center stage the first two weekends of December, 2019. Information will be available in a few weeks regarding auditions for roles in the play, which will be held in early June. Be thinking now of who you want to invite to the enchanted land of Narnia!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
BE IN THE CAST
Auditions for the show will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 2, with callbacks on Monday evening, June 3. We are hoping the cast will include about 16 men, 16 women, and 8+ children. For both adults and children, there are major roles, minor roles, and roles that do not involve any speaking at all. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is not a musical, so if you’ve ever wanted to be in one of our shows but have not done so because you are not a singer, this is your chance! It is our sincere hope to have many new people join our acting team in this production. Detailed audition information can be found at auditions.fairmountchristian.org.

BE A VOLUNTEER DURING THE SHOWS.
Closer to show time, Chris Santasiere will be looking for people to serve as ushers, greeters, parking attendants, etc. It takes an army of people to be great hosts to the thousands of people that flood through our doors during the two weekends we present our productions.
On Sunday, May 5 and Sunday, May 19, we will have sign-up tables in the Worship Center foyer where you can sign up for auditions, as well as sign up to get more information regarding the pre-production teams. Signing up does not commit you to participate, but only to get more information about being involved in the various ways. Please consider joining our team as we prepare for this wonderful undertaking and outreach to our community!
