“What goes in is FUN! What comes out is ETERNAL!”
Let the fun begin!!

christmas childOperation Christmas Child “fever” is spreading early this year. Folks are already asking questions about what goes in the shoeboxes as they are shopping early and even “year-round” with an eye out for bargains!

In case you’re not already familiar with Operation Christmas Child, it is a unique project organized by Samaritan’s Purse that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to hurting children around the world, sharing God’s love in a tangible way. Before receiving their shoeboxes, the Gospel message is shared with them and many take this message home to their family and friends.

Last year, for every 100 shoeboxes collected, 18 children accepted Jesus as their Savior. Last year over 10.6 million shoeboxes were collected and over 2 million children accepted Jesus as their Savior. What an eternal impact!

Something NEW this year: our pre-printed shoeboxes are slightly larger and corrugated. Therefore, deflated soccer balls and other “wow” gifts fit more easily into the boxes. Feel free to use your own shoeboxes and decorate them if you would like – just wrap the top separately from the bottom.

Remember to keep the age groupings in mind as you shop:
Boy or Girl, Ages 2 - 4, 5 – 9 or 10 – 14.

In addition, our American Heritage Girls and Trail Life Troops will be collectively packing shoeboxes as a service project in October and would appreciate donated items. Fairmount’s Caring Hearts and Hands ministry participants are already fervently knitting and crocheting washcloths for hygiene kits; hand-making jump ropes from T-shirts; and sewing tote bags, among other projects for this Packing Party.

Kickoff Sunday is October 6th - just around the corner!

Last year Fairmount collected a total of 1200 boxes, surpassing our goal of 1000! It all starts with a shoebox gift, packed in Jesus’ name and full of love and prayer!
