How can your role be described?

Nursery teachers teach babies about God, the Bible, and prayer. They learn to captivate and teach children at a very young age using table-time teaching. Church membership is required for this role.  Nursery teachers serve weekly or biweekly.

What are the available times to serve?

Sunday AM:  8:00-9:30                      Sunday AM:  9:15- 10:45

Sunday AM:  10:45-12:15                  Sunday PM:  5:30-7:00

Wednesday PM:  6:15-7:30

How will you serve?

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Greet parents and welcome babies and toddlers into your classroom
  • Provide loving care
  • Follow instructions left by the parents on the Nursery Instructions Form
  • Take care of feeding and diapering needs according to Fairmount guidelines
  • Comfort unhappy babies and contact parents if necessary following Fairmount guidelines
  • Greet parents upon their return and give a brief update on their baby
  • Membership of Fairmount Christian Church status: Active member
  • Completed Children’s Ministry Volunteer Application
  • Passed background security check
  • Completed Teacher Questionnaire and approval
  • Completed Connections 101 and 201 classes
  • Completed Special Needs training (as needed)
  • Contacts and Schedule
  • Curriculum (to be used and returned ready for the next year)
  • Teaching resources (e.g. flannels, pictures, nativity, etc.) given each quarter (to be used and returned ready for the next year)
  • Class Roll
  • Name tag weekly from Check-In kiosk
  • Preaddressed postcards to your students each quarter
  • Smocks (in Infants and First Steps)
  • Access to locking cabinets in your classroom  (Sunday morning only)
